French Ligue 1 Coaches Salary 2022-23

French Ligue 1 is the primary football league consisting of 20 clubs. All the clubs hired world-class players and managers for the best performance in the tournament. A manager is a very significant person in a football team. Any effective decision, squad selection, and others have to do him in a justified way.

However, a manager’s salary is based on the agreement with the clubs. Ligue 1 managers are categorized by their previous records and their salary depends on their category. Paris Saint-Germain’s ex-manager Mauricio Pochettino was the highest paid manager with €7 million. PSG appointed Christophe Galtier as their new head coach with a two years contract until June 2024. They hired him by €10 million which is considered the highest salary.

Christophe Galtier

PSG officially named Christophe Galtier as their new coach. He signed a two years contract with PSG until 30th June 2024. The 55 years old Christophe Galtier is the highest-paid coach nowadays. Nice’s former head coach Galtier joined PSG in replacement of Mauricio Pochettino. Galtier led Nice in fifth place and finish a Coupe de Franch in the final. Under his guidance, Nice qualified for the UEFA Conference league. His annual salary from PSG is about €10 million.

Igor Tudor

Croatian former footballer Igor Tudor signed a two-year contract with French Ligue 1 club Marseille. He spent most of his time in Juventus as a player as well as Ass. Manager. Before joining Marseille he was in charge of Verona. He led the club to 9th place and notable improvement of the club. During his time at Juventus, the club won a series of titles and he was awarded the Croatian Player Of The Year in 2002. His annual salary is nearly €7 million which is the second highest salary.

Philippe Clement

Monaco hired Phillippe Clement as their head coach in January 2022. In 1998 Clement played for the Belgium National team in FIFA World Cup and in 2002 he played in UEFA EURO Championship Ligue. After his retirement from playing, he joined Club Brugge and spent there a long time as a caretaker coach, ass coach, and head coach. As a defender of  Brugge, he played 333 games with 45 goals. He signed a two and half year contract with Monaco. The club is bound to give him €4 million in a year.

Lucien Favre

After the departure of Christophe Galtier, Nice hired their old coach Lucien Favre in 2022. Lucien Favre is one of the greatest professional football coaches in Ligue 1. 64 aged, Swiss Favre played for many clubs in the midfielder position. He also played for Switzerland National team. Since 1993 he is serving many teams and clubs as manager. Favre trains his disciples to be dynamic and quick attacking in approach. Nice pay him €4 million yearly

Christophe Urios

Union Bordeaux-Bègles hired Christophe Urios in 2019 for the first time. Recently he extended his tenure with the club until 2025. On his hand, the club has tremendously changed. The club won many titles led by him. He was regular in the ground as a player till 1999, after his retirement he pursued his career as a coach, and successfully he has been in his job. In this, he is in 5th position on the scale of salary. He gets paid €3.25 million annually from his club. 

Peter Bosz

Former Netherlands National Team player Peter Bosz was hired by the club Lyon as head coach in 2021. He signed a two years contract with the club. Before joining here he was the head coach of Bayer Leverkusen. In 2017, he led Ajax to the final of the Europa League lost by Manchester United. In 2020 he led Bayer Leverkusen in German Cup. Dutchmen Peter Bosz gets approximately €3 million annual salary from the club.

Laurent Battles

In June 2022, Saint-Étienne named Laurent Battles as their newly appointed head coach in replacement of Pascal Dupraz. In his early career, he played in French National Team Under 16 and 21. He played for many other clubs and was widely praised for his excellent playing skill. He retired in 2012. From 2015 to 2019 he worked with Saint-Étienne. After a short interval, he returns to Saint-Étienne as their head coach.
